Our Housewarming Party this past year was a blast! We kept it simple for the most part, but had a little twist. Since this was our first home, we didn't have anything to hang on the walls. So my idea was to have our guest make our art. I purchased two packages of 8x10 framed canvas boards (8 in each pack), a variety of acrylic paints (.99 cent), and brushes. I set out the supplies on a small table and let our guest go at it. Everyone had a little trouble getting inspired but in the end it was big hit. I'm so happy with how they came out, we have all the paintings in our living room. They are great conversation pieces. As a thank you for coming, I made small favors. I purchased big bags of potpourri from Walmart (7.99), small favor drawstring bags (12 x 2.99), and I picked up different colors of leaf shaped paint sample cards (free Home Supply store). I bagged a small amount of potpourri in the favors then strung the paint card through the drawstring, and wrote Thank You on the paint card. Sorry don't have pic of the favors.
